Gifts of Warm Clothing for Refugees

In this season of giving, please consider providing warm clothing to refugees recently arrived in Manchester NH. Refugees come from places such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, Bhutan, and Iraq among other countries. Refugees receive a three month stipend from U.S. resettlement agencies and are then tasked with self-sufficiency. Some refugees find adequate jobs while other don’t.

In the past year, the United Church of Christ at Dartmouth College has established a relationship with Sister Irene Marie Pelland, a member of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, who visits refugees in Manchester daily. This year she has identified families struggling with limited financial resources and suffering from the cold. Please consider signing up to provide gifts for one or more of the individuals listed in the sign-up genius. To give, simply click this NH Refugee Outreach at Signup Genius, select a sign-up slot and buy the items, or provide a check reflecting a sum to cover the cost of the items.

If you choose to contribute gifts, please deliver new, unwrapped gifts by December 12th, 2017 to The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College (CCDC), Map to 40 College St, Hanover, NH 03755.  Gifts may be dropped off in a blue box labeled “refugee gifts” located just outside the church office. Please label the gifted items with information offered in the sign up slot. If possible, please also include a gift receipt.

CCDC is also accepting financial contributions; if you choose to offer a financial contribution, please write check to CCDC and add “refugee” in the memo section. Please drop off or mail check to The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College, 40 College St, Hanover, NH 03755 by December 8th, 2017.

Many thanks for your support for improving the lives of new neighbors in our state. If you have any questions, please contact: Gayle Aspinwall, Nicole Ives, or Sarah Nordstrom.
